talk services

Ok folks, time for some feedback. What do you think about the talk services?

I have had Skype for a while, but rarely have I used it. I only have 2 contacts, and one of them is the Skpe dude in England to test if your connection is working. I downloaded the Skype for Mac, but don't seem to be getting the quality that the PC version has.

I am intrigued by iChat, especially since I now know you don't have to buy a .mac account every year to use it. A few people have told me that you just need an AIM account to use it. BUT, I haven't talked to anyone on it yet.

Yesterday the Queen B told me about Google Talk, so I had to go look at it (being the Googlemaniac that I am). It seems that they don't have a Mac version, but you can use your Gmail address in iChat. So I have now set up the iChat for that. BUT I still haven't actually used it.

So what are you doing out there? Skype (especially since you can call land lines for free right now)? Something else? Or are you like me and are still using Messenger and typing everything?
