...and they'rrrrrrrre off

Ahh! I can hear Joe Carbury, the voice of the Rangeland Derby. The half a mile of hell thunders through my blood. Although I havn't been there in a few years I still need to make a side bet with my neighbour.

Last year I found a live webcast of the races on one of the professional chuckwagon racing websites. I havn't found it this year yet. So, who wants to wager a quarter on a race? Here's tonight's heats. I'm putting my quarter on Jason Glass in the 5th heat he's on the first barrel. I'm a sucker for that checkerboard wagon. You can follow the results all week long here.

Hey Man...

stumbled across your site in a search for Joe Carbury (do you know how old he is, by chance?)...GREAT rants about the Stampede...and I too remember Buck Shot and Benny(Alas, there are not alot of us who do!). Thanks for the link on free food...I was wondering where Rope Square moved! (it used to be on 8th ave, but I guess now it's at Olympic plaza...?) Cheers and Yahoo!

Thanks for stopping by Sue. I'm not sure who is older Joe or dirt, but they're pretty close in age. I'm sure he's got to be getting up there in years, I thought he was pretty old(and cool)when I was living there as a kid. Hope you have a great Stampede!!
