Festival du Bois

Loosely translated, Festival du Bois means " come for the Maple Sugar on a stick, but stay for the Poutine" We enjoyed a gorgeous Saturday afternoon with friends soaking up the Metis culture. We visited New France with the Francophone Scouts, Enjoyed the West Coast Metis Jiggers, listened to Kleztory and of course sampled many authentic French foods. (OK maybe my donair was Greek, but the rest was French) The line for the poutine was way tooooooooo long, but how can you go to a French festival and not enjoy a poutine, so we decided to brave the line just before we left. The wait was definitely worth it. Ronan slept through his first face painting (I'm sure he wanted to be a tiger), although the brush must tickle, as there were a few moments where he brushed away the brush and smeared paint everywhere. Thank goodness for wet wipes.

Great photos! We had so much fun. The girls were talking about it all evening. I'll have to get some photos from you for a scrapbook page. My camera was sadly left at home.
