confessions of a technogeek

I'm a technogeek! I love cool gadgets and gizmos. I don't think I'm the kind of guy who goes and buys stuff as soon as it is put on display, but I have noticed that I am usually slightly ahead of the populus. So last Christmas I almost bought the ultimate technogeek stocking stuffer. I was in Radio Shack and saw a cool little Christmas Tree that had little LED lights on it. It was about 20 cm tall and was powered by the computer's USB port. I still don't know why I didn't buy it.

There is a website with all sorts of cool USB plug-ins, usbgeek.com. These guys have coffee warmers, humidifiers, massagers, pencil sharpeners, aquariums, vacuums, and of course a musical Christmas Tree. Go ahead, take a look around the site, it's a bit cheezy, but it sure is fun.

Next time your in town, you should drop by and check out my brand spankin' new DVD Recorder. Yep, looks and feels just like a regular stand-alone DVD player, but you can drop in any kind of recordable disc and record TV, digital video from your camera, or whatever you plug into the back. It's awesome!

Or, if that doesn't get you, maybe you'd be interested in the "TV over Wireless" rig I recently set up... I can now stream live TV from my computer (which has a TV card) to my wireless laptop, or even to my machine at work (don't tell the boss)!

Yeah, I'm still a geek, too... I'll let you know how that Christmas tree is...
