Yesterday was my first day as a Primary Inspector with l’Agence canadienne d’inspection des aliments aka the CFIA. It is exciting! I have my own cubical, my own hardhat with a CFIA Inspector sticker on the front, and even a flashlight. The most exciting part about my first day was an event that happened during the last 30 minutes. There was some excitement surrounding ground beef, when I got home it was the lead story on the 6 O'clock news.
Today I created my email signature - so I had to figure out my name, title, department, address, phone # and fax in French. Thank goodness for Google translation tools. I even have a card that teaches me to say I cannot understand French (phonetically). I can also say Please wait here and some other great phrases like follow me please
