Break Forth Highlights

I'm back from Break Forth and here are the highlights.

Coolest Gizmo
The PR-50 by Edirol (Roland). The PR-50 is a realtime video presenter. This magic little box allows DVD quality images (as opposed to computer quality images) to be shown in the background of presentations (such as song lyrics). It allows video editing, changing video on the fly and no "start-up" stalling like a computer when it shows video. The best part is the video quality pans are so smooth unlike a mpeg and changing between videos is instantaneous. My problem has always been getting the video from fill in any format (VHS, DVD...) to mpeg. With this beauty it's no problem. Just plug it in.

If you don't like the $6500 price tag, it also has a little brother for $5000.

Best Presenters
David Nasser spoke on Grace
Bruce Wilkinson was looking at your dreams (not the ones you have while you sleep, but the ones you try to make come true)

Worship Leaders
Robin Mark -Best new-to-me song "Revival"
Brian Doerksen Best (not so) new-to-me song "Everlasting"
Paul Baloche BNS "Arise"

ULTIMATE HIGHLIGHT
Chris Rice pleasured us with "Smellin' Coffee" "Smell the Color Nine" and after an encore and alot of chanting "Cartoons". The best was after he put down his guitar and sat down at the piano he just started playing the theme to the Mario Bros. video game. He even played the parts where Mario goes underground.

The Purchases
I bought 2 CDs for our church's media from ImageVine Free to Worship (video) and Abstracts (graphics)
